Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri was an Indian actress who has gained recognition for her performance in the film Hum Aapke Hin Koun and Beta Saajan. The actress began her career in the 1980s. The role she played as Anil Kapoor in the film Tezaab made her hugely well-known. Her next appearance on screen was Dil along with Aamir. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she started learning dancing at a young age. As a teen, she attempted acting, however most of her early movies failed. Then, she discovered success with Indian film and climbed to the top. The actress took a hiatus from her career following her marriage before returning to the world of entertainment. In recent years, Dixit was a key player on Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggles of women in India. Dixit was nominated 15 times in the Filmfare Awards. She won 8 of these. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian honour in India. She has also been recognized by the social sector.
